Graduate Opportunities
It is often difficult to obtain your first position after leaving College and University
when you are keen to kick start your career.
Most employers are looking for experience when they recruit for their Event, Hospitality,
Banqueting and F&B positions. The question is how do you find it?
Well, the first step is to take a starter job which introduces you to work in the
choice of industry you are contemplating. This role often does not need a great
deal of experience, but you gain this as you go along. Similarly some employers
will promote from a starter role so you succeed that way.
Another way is to look for a training scheme whereby you work for a Venue, Hotel,
Catering and/or Event Company in various positions learning the ropes for promotion
to your chosen field of expertise.
Alternatively you can seek work overseas as an Intern gaining valuable experience
at the same time as enhancing the experience on your CV.
It is a good idea to enrol with an Agency that provides staff to the Event Companies
and Hotels as you can gain valuable experience working in these environments.
